Word of the Day Widget

Wanting to advance my vocabulary I searched the App Store for a widget app that would show me a random word each day along with it's definition. I was shocked to find that there was no free option. The word of the day widgets that were listed as free, turned out to be misleading. After downloading and creating an account, the service would be blocked behind an expensive monthly subscription. This inspired me to create my own 100% free word of the day widget app. I downloaded a .txt dictionary from the internet and wrote Java code to filter out inappropriate and offensive words. Next, I took the project to Xcode where I created the UI for the app as well as a fully customizable widget that allows users to change the colour of every line and the background colour. I created promotional pictures and videos to showcase the aesthetic and functional value of this app. In the end, I was satisfied to make a great app that I personally use daily and give other widget users a free alternative.
