My Time at Lavndr

After gaining confidence through personal and freelance projects, I wanted to take on something with higher standards and real stakes. That opportunity came when I joined Lavndr Co, a Toronto-based startup focused on helping brands launch effective ad campaigns. When I arrived, their website was a basic, no-code Squarespace build that didn’t reflect the company’s vision. I took full ownership of redesigning it from scratch using Next.js, handling everything from structure and layout to deployment. Throughout the process, I worked closely with the cofounder, Moeed Akhter, who provided feedback and direction during each iteration. What started as an outdated template turned into a fully custom, high-performance site: lavndrco.com. Alongside the redesign, I also had the chance to collaborate with a senior software engineer on three different client projects. Working in that environment pushed me to adapt quickly, follow best practices, and contribute production-ready features as part of a small team.

What I learned

- Building scalable sites with Next.js

- Iterating with cofounder and client feedback

- Working alongside a team of programers in real production environments
